The original, rather plain, Georgian building of 1828 was enhanced and extended between 1925 and 1927.
A record of the first 100 years was published in 1928 but so far we have not been able to locate and digitise a copy.

A further history was compiled in 1998 for the 170th anniversary, covering the events of the ensuing 70 years, and a copy can be seen here.
